About Kevin’s Photo Studio

Welcome!
Welcome to my photography home on the web. I’m glad you stopped by for a visit. So…you’re checking out my About page. Well then, let me tell you a little about about me and my website.
Photography has been a lifetime pursuit for me. I took my first photography class in 5th grade where I first learned black & white darkroom developing processes. My father soon built me a darkroom in one of our bathrooms at home so I could pursue darkroom processing at home. It is a hobby that I’ve always enjoyed.
I’m also a true computer nerd and with the advent of digital photography, I discovered even more joy in the hobby. I’ve been shooting digitally since 2001 when Canon first gave the world the Canon D30 DSLR. I’ve also been using Photoshop since version 4.0. Prior to that I was writing my own image processing software.
In the last few years I’ve taken my photography to the next level and started to pursue it semi-professionally shooting weddings and portraits for families and high school seniors. I’ve found this to be a very rewarding experience and really enjoy seeing the my clients reactions to the pictures when they see them for the first time and in final form.
I spent my first 18 years as a professional software engineer working in industries tightly coupled to image processing, first working for a large color printer manufacturer, then working for a small fabless semiconductor company building display processing chips that you would find in LCD displays, TVs, or projection systems.
These days I make my home in Portland, Oregon, USA.
If you’d like to contact me please email me at kevin@kevinmillsphoto.com. I can also be found on Facebook, and LinkedIn.
This website is a portal for me to share what I’ve learned in both photography and photo processing over the years. I hope you find it useful, entertaining, and educational.
